STAR WARZ is an internationally highly respected Drum ‘n’ Bass concept. Star Warz had almost all upcoming or established artists & labels in the scene over and it is one of the partners of Tomorrowland - proclaimed ‘best festival’ at many awards - since day one.
Star Warz was created by Mister M & One87 over 12 years ago and it quickly blew up to one of the finest Drum ‘n’ Bass concepts the world has ever seen. A combination of high quality line ups, great artwork, a top class venue and a heavyweight sound-system is at the base of its huge success.
Star Warz is often the concept of choice of leading labels and their labelnights or B-days, and it seems the mighty Metalheadz just can’t get enough of Star Warz !
So here he is again, head honchoand Goldie heading towards another legendary Metalheadz night at Star Warz.
Drum ‘n’ Bass just wouldn’t be the same without his influences and all of the gifted artists he broke onto the scene. He’s a Star Warz favorite and vice versa. He chose Star Warz to launch the 15th anniversary of the most legendary Drum ‘n’ Bass label ever, treated us to a completely old skool edition and completely overwhelmed the Star Warz stage at Tomorrowland several times. This time he brings the very best artists featured on Metalheadz.
There are few producers on the Drum ’n’ Bass scene who are as respected and revered as Dillinja. With his trademark combination of dirty stomach-churning bass-lines and tighter than tight beats, his reputation has been secured as one of the most influential producers in Drum ‘n’ Bass history, as well as one of the scene’s most called-upon remixers, having worked with everyone from David Bowie to Bjork and Basement Jaxx. A true connoisseur of sound, Dillinja’s mighty 96k Valve Sound System is recognized the world over as being second to none.
Jubei is another name on the lips of almost every top-flight Drum ‘n’ Bass DJ lately. Whether it’s his solo productions, his work as a member of Code 3 (with SP:MC and Dakuan) or his many collaborations with big names as Goldie, dBridge, Breakage, Phobia, Icicle, Cern, SPY, Lenzman, Logistics and Fierce, his music is featured heavily in the sets of those who know.
Next up are Ulterior Motive who have set the standard high with releases on Subtitles, Metalheadz and Critical last year. The duo also continued to put quality first, with more releases on Subtitles and Critical plus a prestigious appearance on Reinforced and some high-profile remix work.
Known for his experimental way with sounds, Amit does not only have over 30 releases under his belt, he also surprised the scene with his album ‘9 Lives’, the culmination of his journey into the exploration of musical genres over the past three years.
All these masters will be accompanied by two of amazing MC’s. They love to hype you up and they will do it again: SP:MC & MC GQ on the mic!
Local support comes from our resident One87 who will be teaming up with Steam MC Mush. Mental Forces completes this first edition of Star Warz in 2013. And another memorable one it will be!
