Star Warz presents Neosignal X Eatbrain

Star Warz presents Neosignal X Eatbrain - Fri 23-06-17, Kunstencentrum Viernulvier

General Info

Concept

The previous edition of Star Warz was a joint venture with the revered Croatian Outlook Festival and Dispatch Recordings. Therefore Star Warz is proud to announce that this year they will be hosting a stage at Outlook Festival. And that’s not all as they will also be hosting their own stage at Tomorrowland on Sunday, July 30th. Before you might join them on either of those, we kindly invite you to our next party at the Vooruit which will feature the Neosignal and Eatbrain Drum ‘n’ Bass labels. In over 15 years of existence, Star Warz has invited almost all leading and upcoming artists & labels in the Drum ‘n’ Bass scene and will carry on that tradition in 2017.

Neosignal stands for ‘new sounds’ and that’s what they deliver on Neosignal Recordings. Eatbrain profiles itself as dark, deep, unfiltered, unrestrained, premier Neurofunk. Sounds like a perfect match to us!

PHACE is the alias used by Florian Harres, an electronic music producer, DJ and label owner of Neosignal Recordings. Over the past decade he not only defined his very own style of cutting-edge electronic music but also toured most corners of this planet, building a large, faithful global following. His wide-ranging back catalogue of music includes four full length albums, various EP's plus countless chart breaking singles, remixes and collaborations. Phace’s music is released on the world’s most famous indie labels such as Vision, Owsla, Critical, Shogun, Maustrap (amongst others), and of course Neosignal Recordings, his own imprint. His sound is best described by twisted bass, rhythmical experimentation, high contrast ambience, deep cinematic themes, explosive energy, and yet human analog soul and funk. Only two words are necessary to summarize the creative work of this artist - pioneering and progressive.

Simon Gabor aka JADE has been making waves in the Drum ‘n’ Bass scene since the early 2000s, leaving his mark on legendary labels like Moving Shadow and Black Sun Empire Recordings. It was through these and the rest of the decade, that Jade pioneered the emerging sound known as ‘Neurofunk’. Jade's unique and aggressive style earned him a place amongst drum & bass's finest producers, while his impressive skills as a DJ saw him touring Europe and beyond as one of Hungary's most sought after musical exports. In 2009 Jade released his debut album – the Venom LP on Citrus Recordings and 2011 saw Jade take his next step toward global domination, with the establishment of his own label Eatbrain - a forward thinking imprint standing at the crux of heavy dance-floor rhythms and the razors edge of Drum ‘n’ Bass. With a unique aesthetic and the expertly curated creative direction of Jade, Eatbrain has quickly grown into a global movement within the drum & bass community, releasing music from heavyweights like Mindscape, Black Sun Empire, State of Mind and Neonlight, while supporting newcomers such as NickBee and Teddy Killerz - to name only a few.

Michael Bräuninger aka Misanthrop runs Neosignal Recordings from Hamburg, Germany with Phace. With more than 10 years of constant work on his own musical and artistic visions in the studio (both audio and video) Misanthrop is no stranger to the international Drum ‘n’ Bass scene at all. He was caught up by the dark sounds and menacing beats of ‘drum and bass’ in the early nineties, when he decided to produce his own tracks under the moniker ‘Misanthrop’: a name that in his point of view gave him the freedom to use music as a medium to express personal experiences of human interactions. His musical arrangements symbolicly oppose to the lack of candor – his aim is to break through the borders of conventions to set new unusual grounds. With his hard hitting and distinctive sound his back catalogue consists of two albums (From Deep Space and Raum und Zeit) several EPs to chart breaking singles on OWSLA, Mau5trap, Shogun, Critical, Division, Renegade Hardware, over to Shadow Law, Cyanide, Subtitles Music and of course Neosignal Recordings.

Following a period cultivating their fierce talent and sound on labels such as Citrus and Disturbed, Ukrainian duo Agressor Bunx struck deep into the psyche of the Drum ‘n’ Bass scene with a series of powerful releases on some of the most established labels including Bad taste Recordings, Program, Blackout and Trendkill. But it was their striking emergence onto premier Neurofunk label Eatbrain with ‘The Order’ EP in 2016 that changed everything and gave the Agressor Bunx a sonic family. With the duo featuring heavily on the drum & bass club circuit, they’ve seared their aesthetic deep into the hearts and ears of ravers across Europe. With 2017 rolling, the future is brighter for the pair than ever, bringing the release of their collaboration with The Upbeats on Noisia’s Vision label and the duo’s first LP on Eatbrain in the form of the ‘Properties of Addition’ LP. The Ukrainian brothers have staked out a fierce and advanced sound field with their evolved and tech-driven funk as well as their audio experimentation pulverizing speaker cones.

Over the past few years L 33's intricate production skills have helped place Bulgaria firmly on the D&B world map. His impressive back catalogue has seen releases on highly respected labels such as Program (RAM), Eatbrain, Rise audio, Titan, Citrus and Avantgarde. Supported by the the likes of Andy C, DJ Hype, Dillinja & many more, this 22 year old is a producer to look out for. There's so much more to come from L 33 and those signature dark and futuristic vibes certainly won't disappoint. In 2013 he released ‘Discrete’ on Andy C Nightlife 6 compilation which led to his debut single on Andy C's sub imprint - Program. The year 2014 brought him big success after releasing his single Melt/Let Loose on Addictive Behaviour. The tracks are still being supported by some of the biggest names out. More recently he has been releasing new material on Lifted Music and Eatbrain.

Omar Shaker, formerly known as PLO, is a UK Drum & Bass DJ who’s been in the game for the last 15 years. He has performed at many high profile clubs around the globe as well as some of the most prestigious festivals. Examples include performing at the world’s largest dedicated Drum & Bass Festival, Let it Roll and the legendary Moat Stage at Outlook Festival for Renegade Hardware. His sets have also been streamed live on Drum & Bass Arena TV. All artists will be accompanied by Belgium’s leading MC’s.

Deep perception, meaningful lyrics and real love for the music, perfectly summarize what MC Mush is all about. Focusing on quality control has always been his main drive. By lending his voice and rhymes too various DJ's and party concepts for over a decade, MC Mush has steadily been making name for himself with underground ravers and the Drum 'n' Bass public, both in Belgium and abroad. Steam, Liquid flavaz radio and of course Star Warz are but a few of many concepts that Mush was able to grace with his rhymes.
Nowadays he 's working closely together with One87 as his MC of choice, always careful to complement and never overpower the music.

Lyrical bazooka MC Mota conquered the vocal Belgian bass music-scene in only 2 years time with spots at some of the country's and Europe's biggest rave-gatherings. As a ‘RAMPAGE’ and ‘M&T-invites’ resident Mota crafted his lyrical genius and stage act. He hereby knows perfectly how to handle massive main-stage crowds and is fully dedicated to spicing up their Drum ‘n’ Bass sound experience. Enchanting and igniting them with his deep, dubby reggae-like flow, energetic high-pitched freestyle spitting sessions and soulful singing, while always keeping in mind not to overshadow the DJ, but merely building a bridge between basshead and selecta!

Proper Star Warz quality as usual. We hope to see u there!
