Soul intent

I've been DJ'ing since I was 15 (under the alias DJ Lynkx) and have played all over the UK. When playing out I draw from such artists as Calibre, Marcus Intalex, D-Bridge, Commix, Break, Klute, Hive, Photek etc. From playing at Detonate and Kombination Funk regulary, as well as nights up and down the country I got a reputation of playing deep, heavy and rolling sets....I've never really latching onto the double drop, tease type mixing that seems to be all the rage. .. I've been lucky enough to play at some wicked venues and be on the same line-up as many of my favourite producers/djs; Fabio, Bukem, Friction, Calibre, Keaton, Ed Rush, 4 Hero, Marcus Intalex, Goldie, Bailey, Dom, Hive, Skitty, Evol Intent, Grooverider, Break, Silent Witness, Doc Scott, Matrix and many more. .. In 2005 I set up Brutal Recordings with a few other Nottingham based DJ's and producers under the name Dataset. Dataset is our production alias, basically any tune which has had a few people working in it will go out under Dataset. Hopefully some single efforts will appear on the label in the near future too. .. After a one full release and BTL002 hitting the shops as a promo, Brutal began to have problems and the label came to a stop...though there's still a few tunes to be released (if they ever get finished!!) so maybe it's not the end for Brutal...just yet anyway. .. Frustrated with how slow things were going, and not being able to get tracks finished the way I'd like, I spent the next year working on my mix downs and production. Then December 2006 I sent off a CD to Mary Ann Hobbs at Radio 1. Pretty much straight away she got in touch, saying she was going to play the laid back killer 'Jus Vibe' (forthcoming on Blindside Recordings) on her show that same week. A few days later after DJ Flight played 'Bibio Dub' on her Next Chapter show on Radio 1's digital station 1xtra. Then sortly after xmas the Godfather himself (thats Grooverider for any younger listeners), played Bibio (or Bible dub..hehe!) on his Friday night Radio1 show. "I'm expecting bigs things from this guy" remarked Grooverider.
