General Info

Concept

Star Warz will again be part of Belgium’s most spectacular and magical outdoor dance-festival : Tomorrowland, for the fifth time !

On Saturday the 25th and Sunday the 26th of July Tomorrowland celebrates its 5th anniversary and they will dig even deeper in their imagination and organization then before to exceed the expectations of the party-people once again. After the enormous success of last year with 50.000 dance lovers, the whole Tomorrowland festival site will be open for 2 days, which means that from now there will be as many stages and artists on the 2 days.

Even though Tomorrowland already has the reputation of ‘the most beautiful festival of the summer’, they are taking everything up another step … both musically as organizationally … The - bigger than ever - line-up gives us the best dance music in the world. And with dance music they mean it in the broadest sense of its meaning. It goes from electro to trance, from progressive to hardstyle, from club to drum ‘n’ bass, from minimal to eclectic, from techno to 90’s... no less than 20 stages scattered over 2 days !

One of the big assets of Tomorrowland is their ability to transform the recreational area, De Schorre, into a surrealistic and never-seen-before fairyland. The amazing decoration, the breathtaking laser shows, the surprising acts, the cosy cocktail bars, the beaches and swimming pools, the fireworks, the small bridges and off course the great and unforgettable atmosphere make Tomorrowland unique!

The Star Warz stage brings you a day filled with the best in Drum ‘n’ Bass of the moment with Drum ‘n’ Bass’ biggest star, Goldie, as top of the bill !!!

Set all phasers on stun, Star Warz festival edition !!!!!!

They can count on the national and international support of major artists like Goldie, Commix, Grooverider, Doc Scott, Andy C, Ed Rush, Storm, Marcus Intalex, Randall, Fresh, … and labels like Critical Recordings, Exit Records, V Records, 31Records,… who all have helped to make Star Warz into the great parties as people know them!

Other international and national guests who have always supported Star Warz will make their appearance in the Star Warz tent …

Through his own Metalheadz imprint, Goldie showcased early releases by some of the most crucial jungle artists; from Doc Scott, Photek and Peshay to Dillinja, J Majik and Optical. The Metalheadz weekly residency at London’s legendary jazz club The Blue Note captured the essence of the music to a packed and enthusiastic audience and became a must. He landed a contract with PeteTong’s offshoot FFRR, and released the sumptuous Timeless album, a twisted hymn to urban Britain. Hailed unanimously, the album sold over 250,000 copies, comforting a charismatic, passionate and inspired Goldie as the spokesperson of the hippest scene of the times. In 2006, Goldie enrolled young and gifted producer Heist (AKA Strider) to help him deliver his ultimate tribute to the scene that captured his heart and soul over fifteen years ago: a Rufige Kru album, ‘Malice In Wonderland’ the first artist album ever for Metalheadz.

The second guest is D-Bridge aka Darren White. He is a veteran producer and one of the most experienced artists in Drum ‘n’ Bass. D-Bridge is taking his music to new heights with Exit Records. Having set the Drum ‘n’ Bass scene alight as part of Bad Company, D-Bridge stepped forward once again in 2003 reintroducing himself as a solo artist and unleashed a barrage of releases across top labels Metalheadz, Soul:r and Creative Source. More recently he’s turned his attentions to his label with singles featuring Rufige Kru, Survival, Break and Steve Spacek, and an album titled ’The Gemini Project’.

These two guys will be supported by SP:MC. He is one of the busiest and most innovative MC’s in the circuit. He represents labels as Hospital, Renegade Hardware, Commercial Suicide, Prototype, Bassbin, Good Looking, Metalheadz, Quarantine, Digital Soundboy, Soul:R, Exit, Innerground, DNAudio, Valve, Tempa & 3024. More than enough to call him a big MC!

Next up is One87, he is the founding father of the Star Warz concept. He began his career as part of the Millennium Kru with whom he made his fame. In the beginning of 2008 One87 decided to go solo again, with over 750 Jungle and Drum ’n’ Bass DJ-sets under his belt. Well, not really solo. One87 is often seen with his companion ’DMC’, the Dutch MC master! Together they bring you the freshest Drum ’n’ Bass.

To move in the same direction they invited Nymfo. He has been awarded as ‘Best Dutch Drum ‘n’ Bass Dj’ several times. His productions have been picked up by major labels like Andy C’s RAM Records, Renegade Recordings, Critical Recordings, Frequency Recordings and the huge Shogun Limited imprint and he had collaborations with Icicle and Proxima where he received great reviews from.

Murdock has been active for over a decade in Drum ‘n’ Bass scene in Belgium. He went from throwing small bashes to rocking every major festival in the country several times over and has been running Jungle Fever on Studio Brussels on a weekly basis for 4 years straight.

Juice Blender was once part of the famous Juice Blenders duo. He has his home base in Ghent where he started the legendary Drum ‘n’ Bass parties ‘Steam’ at Decadance. He also owned the Fried Chicken Records, a store specialized in Drum ‘n’ Bass releases. Nowadays Juice Blender keeps himself busy with making his own tracks as a true art form.

In 2004 Tito and Echo Virus teamed up to organize an event together. Because of the success they started to organize these events on a regular basis and so Stealth Bombers was born. It is the longest running Drum ‘n’ Bass event in Antwerp and still grows with every edition. Tito now puts his first steps into producing, but most of the time you’ll find him behind the decks. His mate Echo Virus already released his first track in collaboration with Motion Theory. He received positive support from big names like Pendulum, Chase and Status, … Expect some fast and heavy drum-lines with a furious bass. They will be vocally assisted by MC Ebony.

Originally part of the Riot Squad Soundsystem, and very active on Radio Scorpio in Leuven, Wontime was and is one of the first deejays mixing up Drum ’n’ Bass and Jungle in Belgium. Pioneer and talented, he is now in the top five of the Belgian leading Drum ’n’ Bass deejays, and took part in almost all major Drum ’n’ Bass events and festivals. His mix blends well-known Drum ‘n’ Bass classics as well as all the new branches bouncing from all continents ... with a strong public response.

The Nitrous a young talent from Leuven, describes his style as anything with the right vibes. Ranging from old skool rave through jungle and Drum ‘n’ Bass seasoned with some scratching. With this style he recently won the dj battle ’45 toeren’.

Foxy Lady is known for her open minded vision in Drum ‘n’ Bass music. The last 5 years she has been rocking stages all over Belgium. Her wicked sets contain all the different styles that Drum ‘n’ Bass has on offer. She knows how to satisfy every dance addict! And you better watch out because when she teams up with MC Elvee the madness won’t stop… no… it will only grow stronger.
